They will be taking part in investigations about how the length and place of a shadows change.

Art

We will be exploring the work of Monet. We will be using different materials and techniques to create our own river paintings.

Reading at home

Please read with your child at home. Ask your child questions about what they have just read. It is incredibly helpful and can help them to understand texts better.

Please record when you read at home in their reading journals with the date, title of the book and a comment (which can be as long or as short as you like!)

It is now the children’s responsibility to come in and change their own book if they have read it. Please remind them to do this as they come in in the morning.

P.E. kits

Please remember that PE and outdoor learning are on Wednesday mornings. We will be having some of our P.E. lessons outside. Please ensure that your child has long jogging bottoms and a sports sweatshirt to keep them warm. Also, please make sure all the kit is clearly named.

Sleep and breakfast

Studies show that children need 9 hours sleep every night. Thank you to those of you who make sure that your child is sleeping for long enough. It really makes a difference to their ability to concentrate in lessons. Ensure that your child has a healthy breakfast and brings in a healthy snack such as fruit.

Home time

Please remember that, if you are unable to collect your child for any reason at the end of the day, you need to let the office or class teacher know who will be coming in your place. We are unable to send children home with other adults without your consent. If there are any changes to the going home list, please let us know.

As always, thank you for your continuing support.
