Quick links: Term 5 Overview | Maths Booklets
During this topic we will be learning about the Egyptians. We will be learning all about the lives of this ancient civilization. Children will be mummifying apples and sculpting their own Canopic jars. In maths, children will be learning about fractions and time. Time is sometimes a very challenging concept and we encourage children to explore time as much as possible at home. Children need to add amounts of time, work out durations of time and measure time in minutes and hours. During term 5 children will be swimming. It is important that they have their swimming kit every Thursday. Please ensure that ALL items of clothing have your child’s name in. We have a lot of items ending up in lost property! The children have all chosen a book to take home and read, and have all been given their own reading record. Anyone who reads for three times a week, for ten weeks in a row, will be awarded with a free book to take home! It is important that the children’s record is completed and comes to school every Friday to be checked by their teacher. As a year group, this has improved greatly this year. We now have a regular slot in the school library where children are able to borrow new books to bring home. This term we will continue to look at The Egyptian Cinderella and Flat Stanley Egyptian Grave Robbers. Mrs Wake & Miss DavenportTerm 5 Overview
